Question by studfinder: I’m getting ready to buy a Magellan handheld GPS “Satellite Navigator”. Says “No good for streets” but camping?
My question is, if it doesn’t work for streets, how will it work for camping? Will I be able to use it anywhere but the back country? Should I invest in a better one, or get this one just for camping? Would a normal one work for the back country too??

I have the now primitive Garmin geko 201 it is good enough to help me find geocaches but with out a map feature I have no real time clue as to where turns, roads, etc. are until I am on top of them already. it can only point me in a direction and sometimes that is a little off.
I am saving up my pennies to buy a full featured unit that has the Topo road maps already in it. I would recommend you do too.
